ASSESSMENT: A RESEARCH PROPOSAL
TITLE: Research Skills for International Business
The exercise aims to enhance your ability to:
- Understand the research processes used in international logistics/ related fields
- Identify, interpret and evaluate relevant sources of data
- Plan and communicate a research project methodology.
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO INDIVIDUALLY submit using MOODLE ONE file which has YOUR PLYMOUTH UNIVERSITY STUDENT REGISTRATON NUMBER as the title. This file is a research proposal for a project which investigates ONE research issue in ANY field related to international supply chain management, ship mg or trade.
Your research proposal should include:
YOUR SUBMISSION SHEET AS THE FRONT COVE
1. a 300 word statement of the academic background to your research problem based on a review of at least FIVE relevant articles
2. ONE research question, and 3 research objectives (100 words)
3. a 600 word summary of the usefulness for your proposal, of the sources of data reported in at least FIVE relevant published works [some sources may have been chosen in (i)]. Each work must be fully referenced (no word limit).
4. a statement (500 words) of a methodology (which can be qualitative, quantitative or mixed) which YOU would propose to address your research problem. This should include examples and a proposed work timetable (e.g. a Gantt chart - not word limited), but DO NOT ATTEMPT TO systematically COLLECT ANY PRIMARY OR SECONDARY DATA at this stage
