Two small 5.17-kg masses are joined by a string, which can be assumed to be massless. The string has a tangle in it, as shown in the figure. With the string tangled, the masses are separated by 1.97 m. The two masses are then made to rotate about their center of mass on a frictionless table at a rate of 4.09 rad/s. As they are rotating, the string untangles and lengthens to 2.47 m. What is the angular velocity of the masses after the string untangles?
