Problem: The patient, a young woman, was admitted for treatment of a persistent, symptomatic right adnexal mass. The cystic mass was about 5 cm and presumed to be ovarian in origin. An exploratory laparotomy was performed, with right ovarian cystectomy. Pathological findings confirmed a follicular cyst. The patient's postoperative course was unremarkable, and she was discharged.
