Subject: Some issues that I feel is important in my Nursing Area
Throughout the report we would be discussing the issues and problems that nurses face during their job. We know that nursing is a demanding career and it is not easy to serve for the good cause. These issues are of prime importance to deal with. There are certain issues that they deal with daily basis. Below we will discuss some of the issues.
We will start with the Ethical issues in front of nurses. Many a times they are caught in a dilemma where they do not know how to move ahead. The prime issue for them is some time they are not able to provide service of the highest quality based on the economic constraints of the patients. If the patient has enough money in his pocket then obviously he gets the services of highest quality in hospitals. However when the patient is out of money, nurses are caused in a ethical dilemma. (Cooper, 2004, pp 150) Personally they might want to help patient out of his misery and sufferings but their profession demands that they should interfere much in this cases, as it is the source of their bread and butter.
The second most important issue that confronts nurses is Conflict between organizational and professional philosophy and standards. People are born and bought up in different styles and atmosphere. They have their own ideology however when they are working for any organization then they have to adapt to the principles of the organization. This is sometime difficult in the professions such as nursing because it requires the personal attention and care of nurses for a human cause.
The third most essential issue confronting nurses is of confidentiality. Sometimes, during their work they are supposed to keep things secret and up to them only. It might be possible that their job demands that they should speak out each and every thing however on personal level it is expected from them that they do not shed the confidential information regarding patients. (Dudzinski, 2006, pp 15)
Nurses in the country, of for that matter in the world faces several clinical issues. Some of these are professional and some ethical. These issues need to be discusses and address so that nurses are able to work in a smooth and efficient way. Many of these things depend upon the organizational culture. The organizations, hospitals in which they are working should have a conducive working culture that should be able to save the rights of nurses.
It is recommended that due care is given to this profession and people involved in this profession. There are certain medical bodies governing the rights of nurses however there is a requirement of making these bodies strong so that they can deal with any inconvenience caused to nurses. Moving ahead there is a requirement of more nurses, hence it is required that in general citizens are motivated about this career path.
