On February 1, Tom sent a letter to Bob offering to sell Bob 20 pairs of skis. In the letter Tom wrote, "I promise to keep this firm offer open to you for 4 months from today." Bob received the letter on February 4.
On May 7th, Tom received an offer to purchase that same 20 pairs of skis from Cindy. He immediately sent a letter to Bob stating that his offer was no longer open. Bob received the letter on May 12.
On May 28, Bob sent a letter to Tom saying that he accepted the offer of February 1. Tom received the letter on June 5. He refused to deliver the skis to Bob. Bob sued Tom for breath of contract.
