With reference to both the essay you have submitted for this class, and ideas from course material, discuss public order policing. In doing so, you might consider any number of the following questions to structure your essay: As Greg Marquis (2016: 4) asks: Why police? To what extent is Canadian policing perceived to be done in the general social interest? Does Canadian policing only reflect particular interests and, if so, which ones? Is Canadian policing democratic policing? What accounts for the emergence (or not) of public order events, and what lessons can be learned from the 'flashpoints' model regarding the policing of public order events? Your analysis for this essay must draw upon at least three core course themes aside from the flashpoints model in the construction of your arguments. Also, please use specific examples to illustrate your points.
