To what extent are emotions or feelings important to any

Assignment

1. Of the seven philosophers discussed in the readings this week, which one do you feel a greater affinity with? Why? Which do you feel you have the least affinity with? Why?

2. To what extent are emotions or feelings important to any moral system? Be specific, and explain how you think emotions or feelings relate to morality?

3. To what extent do you believe consequences can be eliminated from any moral system? Be specific, giving examples and illustrations.

1. Of the seven philosophers in the reading the one I feel a greater affinity with is St Thomas Aquinas. His moral doctrine was based on human beings always acting for an end that is conceived of as good. A desired good provided the motives for initiating and completing some act. Action begins in desire and ends in satisfaction or joy in completion(Martin, 1988). This actually goes with my statement that I made in week one talking about how people do things based on how it will benefit them and what they want to fulfill.

The philosopher that I feel I the least affinity with is.
