Throughout my years, I have found myself particularly drawn to Expectancy Theory because of its relative simplicity. There are three components in Expectancy, Theory, and each one needs to be present (and strong) in order for an employee to exhibit optimal motivation. Now, let's take an opportunity to try and apply Expectancy Theory. Think back to a time at work (or in your personal life) in which you lacked motivation for a task or project. Give us a couple of details and explain which of the three components was lacking or weakened, thus resulting in your lack of motivation.
