Through previous classes I have seen that many students have had some practical experience with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act through their work, so I think this will be an interesting discussion for most of you.
As you may or may not know, Sarbanes-Oxley is curative legislation designed to reform corporate abuses. The legislation has been both criticized and praised. What is your assessment, does it go far enough? Does it go too far? What are the cost/benefits of the legislation? Perhaps most importantly, does Sarbanes-Oxley need to be reformed?
