This semester, we are exploring the topic of identity and community. You have explored your own identity, and you have reached out and interacted with a community that you do not belong to. For your final essay, you will identify a problem that you see in your community, reflect on a solution to this problem, and describe what the world would look like without this problem. This essay is based on your "If I Ruled the World" essay in your HIST 235 PACE class.
Your task: You must identify a social problem, use evidence to support the claim that it is a worthy of a reader's attention and in need of a solution, propose a solution, and convince your readers that your proposal will work.
In other words, you need to accomplish the following:
1. Claim that a problem exists that is worthy of your reader's attention.
2. Propose a specific solution that answers the question, "Who should do what?"
3. Explain what your community would look like without this problem.
Requirements:
• Length: 4-5 pages, double-spaced, 12-point font (Times New Roman or other standard font) with 1-inch margins
• Include a creative title
• Underline your thesis statement and your topic sentences.
• You should use 4-5 sources in your paper and include a minimum of 3 quotations
• You may consider interviewing at least one person for this paper
• You are required to turn in a signed green tutor feedback form with your final draft
