UAE Intellectual Property Trademark Law

- The student should deliver a power point presentation as per the instructions below
- Your power point slides must be printed and handed to your teacher at the start of your presentation
- You must reference your information at the end of your power point slides

TASK:
This project aims at providing you with practical experience regarding Business trademarks or copyrights and whether there is an infringement of the Intellectual Property Law in the UAE.
From the shopping malls, markets, industries in the UAE or from your own home you are to find one example where you believe there is an infringement of trademark law.
You will then compare between the two products and write about them (as per the Intellectual Property Law) by answering the following questions and putting your clear answers on a number of slides that will be presented in class:
- Slide One: Cover slide that includes:
o Your name
o Your ID
o College name& Logo
o Course name
o Slide presentation title
- Slide Two: Why trademarks or copyrights are important for a business?
- Slide Three: Product Profiles (for both products that are so similar):
o Product Name
o Picture
o Where did you see it or bought it from
o Price information
o Manufacturer name and its country
o Which of the two products you consider as the one infringing the law
- Slide Four: Explain why you believe there is an infringement (breach or violation)of the law.
- Slide Five: If a product is infringing the IP law, identify the steps that the owners of the original productshould follow to protect their interests.
- Slide Six: Which articles of the IP law have dealt with the violators of trademarks or copyright of items.Put the article number and a brief summary.
