Miami School District Negotiation Paper
Parents are passionate about their children's education and when the Miami school district announced upcoming changes to be enacted in the coming school year. These changes redrew the boundaries of the school district and students would not be allowed to attend their neighborhood school. Concerns by parents immediately started pouring into the school board. Red flags for the parents are; the quality of education, increased travel time for their children, mixing of socioeconomic boundaries, the affect on property values and the social affects these changes will have on their children. This paper will discuss the stakeholders, strategies to support the schools board's need to redraw boundaries, while highlighting the concerns of the stakeholders and speak to the ethical and cultural affects of this decision.
