This is the question: You are the assistant to the CEO of a small textile firm that manufactures high-quality, premium-priced, stylish clothing. The CEO has decided to see what the opportunities are for exporting and has asked you for advice as to the steps the company should take. What advice would you give the CEO?
The paragraph below is the question's answer, Just Write reply to following Answer :(about 50-100 words, very short reply):
The first thing I would do in helping the CEO, is advise him that we need to do market research to see where our products are desired. Our high quality clothing may be highly sought after in the U.S., Europe, and other developed nations, but not so much in undeveloped nations. We may also consider breaking into markets such as China where much of the country is growing rapidly and higher end clothing will become desirable to more and more people. This information might be best sourced out with visits to the regions and making connections with local business experts, but can also be helped with information from the Department of Commerce. I would also hook up with trade shows put on by the Department of Commerce to gather more information, and possibly even find new contacts to help with the process or who may even know the local market we want to enter into. I would suggest that even after all this research, we take things slow and enter just one market at a time in order to get some experience ourselves and once firmly established, we could step up our game and increase our production and exports significantly. Although unlikely in our business case, the Department of Commerce stepped in to help Pneumatic Vacuum Elevator LLC (PVE) overcome a trade barrier with Japan based on their regulations for home elevators. The DOC stepped in a and negotiated with Japanese government officials allowing the difference in regulations to be overcome and allow the trades to continue , all in all giving more work and profit to PVE.
