Flow pattern (3)
In two-dimensional flow we consider again a source, a sink and an uniform stream. But, the source is located at (+L, 0) and the sink is located at (-L, 0) (i.e. opposite to a Rankine body flow pattern). They are of equal strength q in an uniform flow (velocity +VO parallel to the x-axis). Derive the relationship between the discharge q, the length L and the flow velocity such that no flow injected at the source becomes trapped into the sink.
