Thesis: The cost of American college tuition produces sentiment for students, as vocational training as an additive to their degree, does indeed benefit their long term career goals.
The industry of higher education is the only industry that can guarantee a price increase of tuition without decreasing the number of applicants and students they enroll. These days, college education has many avenues as online degree classes create a 'campus' for people of all lifestyles. Recent graduates do benefit in today's job markets from obtain higher education although, people have been just as successful without a degree. This creates the argument that today a college education is less meaningful than 50 years ago. Prospective students weigh in the return on investment for a college degree for their related industry, which helps them decide if it is worth it or not for them and their family.
