There is a widely held belief among the public, and to a certain extent among art critics, that if a work of art can be reproduced, that this somehow "cheapens" it.
An original drawing of a comic strip (not reproducible because it is the original, and by definition "one of a kind") is worth more than the millions of comic books reproduced from it, even though the images in the comic books may even be superior to the original. Do you all think that this point of view is justified?
