There are some primary factors that make conducting

Question: module 3 dq 2 argument Domonique

There are some primary factors that make conducting experimental studies in the field of education more challenging, beginning with (but not limited to) the constraints in the existing educational system as mentioned in our lecture this week (GCU, 2013). They add that it is critical to consider the baseline condition of all participants. This can be difficult to determine or to be certain of without using a pre-test/post-test.

There is no such thing as a perfect experimental study, and there are no straightforward right or wrong answers. But it is of the utmost importance that researchers carefully consider every methodological step and make the most appropriate choices (Geuens, & Pelsmacker, 2017).

These factors affect my research design for my dissertation because it is relevant how proficient ELL students are in both the English language as well as their computer skills. It is important to establish this before my study so that I can establish how technology either helps ELL students or causes barriers. And without the pre-knowledge of their prior experience or skills...it would be impossible to determine the actual factors and therefore would not be a dependable study. There is a difference in that the study mentioned above is a quantitative study with an experimental design, where mine will be a qualitative study with a phenological design. However, I still believe it will be important to establish the level of English proficiency and computer skills prior to my interviews and observations in order to make a conclusive examination of the information collected.
