Students are required to prepare a professional practice portfolio that details some of the various professional practice experiences that they have had during their degree studies.
Their portfolio should commence with a ‘landing page' that includes an ‘about me' section that is a brief autobiographical narrative of their journey to becoming an engineer and the key influences on their choice of specialisation (major). Their draft portfolio must also include their curriculum vitae improved in response to feedback from assessment 1.
The portfolio must include their writing up of critical incidents with reflections and critical review telling a reader how these have contributed to their development as a professional engineer and their plans for future development.
These critical incidents should cover 5 of the 6 Professional and Personal Attributes of the Engineers Australia Stage 1 Competencies.
Their portfolio should refer to some theoretical literature pertaining to some or all of the five topics (see subject resources in UTSOnline) using the UTS Harvard referencing system.
