A) The woofer can be modeled as a series R-L low pass filter. Suppose that a given woofer has an inductance of 750 micron Hertz and a resistance of 4 Ohms. At what frequncy (in Hertz) does its frequncy response drop by 3dB ?
B) To prevent the tweeter from accepting too much current at low frequencies and distorting the overall sound, speaker designers employ a capacitor placed in series with the tweeter, as shown in the figure. This is called a "Crossover circuit" since the idea is to set the 3dB frequncy of the tweeter to match the 3dB frequncy of the woofer (I.e. the Bode plots "crossover" each other.) Suppose that the tweeter behaves like an 8 Ohm resistor; what value of C will set the 3 dB frequency of the tweeter to the value from part(a)?
