The United States of American is supposed to be the land of the free, however, we currently have over 1.8 million citizen incarcerated with 3,000 waiting to be executed on death row (statisicbrain.com).
Many have called for the removal of the death penalty, citing it is inhumane, barbaric, and the legal injections given sometimes prolongs the death causing massive pain. During Pope Frances visit to the United States, he stated: "to advocate at different levels for the global abolition of the death penalty" (Vogue, 2015).
So is there a human way to execute our citizens or should we remove the death penalty completely. Finally, and more importantly, as Theologians, what does God's Word say about the taking of scared life. In a 250-350 word document, complete the following:
