Each discussion paper should not exceed two pages. As to the sources, a copy with the relevant information should be provided (the same as the guidelines for current event news summaries above.)
• The topic of discussion paper: Recently, the Federal Reserve increased the federal funds rate. Not all economists thought that the Fed did the right thing-they were of the opinion that it was still early for that kind of move by the Fed. The student is to find two articles (by known figures in politics or economics) one article in support of the Fed's move, and the other not supporting the move; summarize the argument of each article, and critically evaluate the arguments, giving his/ her own conclusions -in his/her own words.
