The State of Tennessee is currently considering outsourcing facilities management and all of its functions in any State controlled organization. The UT System and any Tennessee University (state funded) would be included in this.
Outsourcing could potentially cost the UTM campus more than 100 jobs within facilities management... all in the hopes of saving some money for the State of Tennessee.
Assume that you are an employee on this campus (some may be)...
How important is a "union voice" in this matter? What are some possible alternatives that should be considered? How would you emphasize the need to keep jobs in Martin?
