Base requirements:
I expect students to provide specific and relevant, foundational level facts, statistics or opinion that are considered as 'correct' in the context of the course, in their answers. These foundational level facts, statistics or opinion are drawn from the course materials. Students are expected to answer questions correctly because they can look up the correct answer. Simply providing foundational level information however, is not a complete answer.
Students are expected to answer questions completely. This might require some analysis of what is happening in the case; and interpreting what is happening in the case in light of what is covered in the course material.
As you can see in the Rubric, meeting base requirements is a 6/10.
To earn a higher grade, students must meet 'base requirements,' and present an argument. I will assess the following elements of each argument:
- The quality of the argumentin terms of professional presentation which refers to the logic and comprehensiveness of the answer
- The degree to which the student has 'understood' the question and grasped the implications of facts presented in the case
- The degree to which students use the most relevant course materials and outside research in the argument.
