Writing a Persuasive Business Letter
Assignment Instructions
The purpose of this assignment is to write a persuasive letter explaining a topic to the University president "John Doe" about something you want to do or some action you would like to see occur at the university. (example: could be funding for a mobile app that students would use to evaluate professors)
You will compose a persuasive letter using the AIDA formula. Your letter has to be at least three paragraphs in length. Use 12-point font.
In the first paragraph you want to get the Attention of the reader.
The second paragraph should spark Interest in the reader. Be creative.
Create a Desire for what you want to do. Why is this important to you? Make this evident in the third paragraph.
The last paragraph should indicate some Action you want to occur. What do you want to happen?
Your letter should follow the letter format and layout and include the following elements:
A heading with return address
Date
Inside address
Salutation
Closing
Signature block
NOTE: You will sign your name as the writer, your title is Business Communications Student, and the name of your school.
Proofread your work carefully before you submit an electronic copy in Moodle by the specified due date.
