Transportation Research Paper
The purpose of this assignment is to examine in more depth the different modes of transportation, characteristics each mode offers, and a comparison to determine the best way to move a product. Be creative buy documenting your sources for information. Past students have interviewed logistic companies, or visited local transportation company's websites to get a first person prospective of the transportation information.
The research should cover the five main sources of transportation- Air, Rail, Truck, Water and Pipeline. You have the choice of what product you will ship as long as it is at least 100 miles or more for the distance.
Include the cost, time and reliability of delivery along with multi- mode transportation choices. You must justify your choices in transportation by stating the reasons you did not elect to use the other options available.
Your research paper should be double-spaced, with 1" margins on all sides. In the paper use a 10-12 pt. Times New Roman font or a similar font. The paper should be 3 to 4 pages long, not including cover page and references.
