Kid Toys is one of the leading dedicated toy and baby products retailer in Singapore.
Kid Toys offers an unparalleled selection of new toys, old favourites toys, games, puzzle, clothing and readymade garments, fashion items and more.
Kids Toy business has been based on a shop until now, but is expanding into internet sales. It has decided to develop a web site for Kids Toy Shop.
The proposed web page to be specifically designed for online shop selling, baby or children clothing, toys and games. It also proposes to include online facilities such as puzzle and game playing activities. In the first step select an attractive a name for the website and design an effective logo. Next design, build and run a website to sell Kids play things that fulfils the following criteria.
Search for similar existing Toys online shop websites and analyse their marketing strategy and design aesthetics related to their items for sale. An essential requirement of the website is that the style and aesthetics reflect your marketing strategy. Devise your own marketing strategy, image and design aesthetics. Analyse, justify and discuss this in the report.
The site may have at least ten different items (toys, dresses, books, games etc) displayed to sell at given prices. The database of the proposed site will have catalogue of items to be sold.
The website also will give a list of items on sale, promotion and discount. The sale, promotion and discount may be for an announced period (days, week / month).
There may be incentives like buy 1 and get one free.
The website also provides the following activities.
A customer should be able to buy any number of items, but discounts apply to the promotion items only. Promotion and sale items must have similar, but different prices. Having selected the products, an invoice may be prepared for the customer. Provision to make payment online must also be included in the website. A summary page should show a breakdown of the purchases with prices, and details of the discount and how it is calculated. A print page button is required to print the invoice and the details of payment made.

• All HTML must primarily use divs and have an EXTERNAL CSS stylesheet.
• Programming for dynamic site with PHP exclusively.
• Use PHP exclusively for links to text files or mySQL data files.
• Use PHP exclusively for other page dynamics and interactions.
• Purchase discounts calculated using PHP coding.
• ONLY PHP, HTML, XHTML or XML are allowed on the site for server interactions - no JavaScript etc.
• The use of pre-constructed templates or content management systems is expressly forbidden.
• Use Photoshop, Paint shop or equivalents to create graphics.
• Flash, XML or SMIL may be used for (optional) dynamic graphics.
