The potential of the left electrode

A piece of P-type silicon is connected to ground on its right side. On its left side there is a metal electrode which is separated from the silicon by a thin layer of air. The potential of the left electrode is V>0V. Because of the positive potential on the left electrode, holes near x=0will be pushed away to the right, leaving ionized acceptor impurities.
