The manager of one of the areas you have recommended for outsourcing is feeling threatened and requests a meeting with you and the chief information officer (CIO) to discuss what he calls the sheer stupidity of your recommendation. Discuss strategies you will use to dilute this manager's anger. Discuss how you will get them both to support your recommendations.
this is what the teacher said:
Luis,
I think you mistakenly assumed the word "areas" meant a certain project. Please re post assuming the company is considering outsourcing a department like payroll.
below is what you did for me:
Sometimes it can make good commercial sense for a company developing a software product to outsource some part of its work as a project to another company. Since an outsourced project is a small product development, all outsourced projects are usually small in size and are normally completed within a year or so. Existing the organization's resources are not stretched further as everything to do with the software system is supported and managed by the software vendor or third party host. The employees already working in the organization will carry out the necessary operation of this system. These persons will be given adequate training on this system by the vendor itself. Due to this the organization way of working will become more effective and it will provide better services. Moreover, the staff performance will also improve. As it is pre-created, tested and supported system that is hosted by a software vendor or third party, it can be accessible via the internet.
Moreover there will not be any cost to the organization for the employment of software developers, IT support hardware. The technology of working in the organization will also not be required to update as the vendor itself make the system adaptable to the present working conditions.
