NLRB Opens Company Email System to Employees for Communications Protected by the National Labor Relations Act
The impact of technology on the union organizing, bargaining and contract administration process. Currently, issues have arisen as to how to treat the use of employee e-mails during organizing efforts. See the case of "Purple Communications". Also, there have been recommendations made that before union elections, employers have to provide contact information for employees to unions - the information includes employee e-mail addresses where available.
Paper Requirement :
Write a 9-11 page research paper, exclusive of footnotes, suitable for publication in a professional journal. As this is a law course, legal citation style is suggested. Each paper shall have 1 inch margins, double-spaced, and 12 point Times New Roman font and generally following accepted APA Standards. Students are encouraged to use the legal format for footnotes. Examples of this format are found in the footnotes to Understanding Labor Law.
The paper will be graded on substance, organization, originality, independent thought and argument. Grammar and spelling will be considered as will proper and appropriate headings. Use footnotes to cite to cases and materials.
