The heart of all motors and generators is a rotating magneticfield. We discussed, covered and derived the equations for arotating magnetic field produced by a symmetric 3-phasestator-winding arrangement driven by a symmetric 3-phase current. Using this methodology, derive the rotatingmagnetic field equation and coil arrangements for a 2-phase electric machine.
