Survive: Northern Frontier
A Serious Game based on teaching young adults about the dangers and best practices of wilderness survival.
Literature Review
Throughout reading various articles we have learned some of the key elements of survival in the wilderness, the varying challenges individuals face as well as some general practices which they can employ to circumnavigate around them. From the Cub Scouts of Canada's web-page, a mission statement was offered in saying that "Challenging hikes, weekend camps, and an introduction to water activities like canoeing or kayaking are just a few of the fun outdoor adventures that Cub Scouts enjoy" [1]. Commencing from here, we can see that the Cub Scouts of Canada share a similar premise as the design team of Survive: Northern Frontier.
