The Food Max Grocery Store sell three brands of milk in half-gallon cartons-its own brand, a local dairy brand and a national brand. The profit of its own brand is 97c, from the local 83c and from the national brand 69c. The total refrigeration shelf space allocacated to half-gallon cartons is 36 sqft. A half gallon carton takes up 16 sq. inches of shelf space. The manager knows that each week the store sells more of the national brand than the other two combined and at least three times as much of the national brand than of its own brand. In addition the local dairy can supply only 10-dozen cartons per week. The manager wants to know how many of each brand to stock in order to maximize profit.
