The following figure depicts the voltage applied across a circuit element as a function of time. In this case, the circuit element can be either a resistor, capacitor, or inductor.
(a) For the 1 KQ resistor shown in (1), make a labeled sketch of the current i(t).
(b) For the resistor shown in (1), make a labeled sketch of the power p(t) consumed by the resistor.
(c) Determine the total energy delivered to the resistor.
(d) Now repeat parts (a)... (c) for the 1 pF capacitor shown in (2).
(e) EXTRA CREDIT: Now suppose the capacitor is replaced with a 10 mH inductor, as shown in (3). You may assume that for t < 0, there is no current in the inductor. Make a fully labeled sketch of the power P(t) delivered to the inductor. Determine the maximum power delivered to the inductor, and the precise time at which this maximum power is reached.
