The department store Nordstrom is known for their conservative brand of clothing. The customer focus at Nordstrom has led to the retail giant having a reputation for a greatly customer experience design. Norstrom marketing strategy uses customer experience design as a key difference maker. The company is known as much for its experience design as it is for the merchandise it sells. Department stores want to bring in young shoppers, and partnerships like this is a popular way to do it (Clifford, 2012). Marketing definition stress that understanding buyers' wants and needs is at the very heart of marketing role in the creation of customer value (Finch, 2012). The appeal to its target markets would be the younger, trendier consumers. With only 14 of its 231 stores carrying the Topshop brand, those particular stores range in geographies, sizes and shopper demographics, that way Nordstrom could get a sense of what worked and where. The move will differentiate them from their competitors because of Topshop is known for their quick turnaround from the runway to the stores. With the constant new fashions brought into stores, this will bring in new and loyal customers on a regular basis.

The move is a small risk for Nordstrom, because they will only carrying the brand is a small select stores and online and they will continue to create the customer experience they are widely known for.
