The city of San Francisco has one of the most extensive laws regarding waste disposal in the United States, yet the most extensive in the world is in South Korea with the pay-as-you-trash initiative. This is a program where the amount your pay for garbage disposal is based on the weight. Additionally, if you place the wrong type of trash in the container, you can be fined.
