I'm trying to calculate the tension needed to pull a cable out of a phone at an angle of 45°. The problem is that the phone does not move on a flat platform, therefore i dont know how to incorporate the mass of the phone on the equations. the phone weights 130gram but during pulling, the phone does not move at all because is fixed to the table. Also, the cable is pull initially at 45° up by a force gauge that reads 20lbs of force before the cable is unplug from the phone. The angle does not vary too much from 45° because the cable is small and does not stretch much until is pulled from the phone. Does anyone know how do i go about calculate the actual force vector in the 45° angle?
