Question: The prefix "tele" means "at a distance," so telehealth provides healthcare services from a different location than where clients are located. "Telehealth encompasses a broad definition of telecommunications and information technology-enabled healthcare services and technologies. They are often used interchangeably with the terms telemedicine, eHealth, mHealth, or mobile health" (Nelson & Staggers, 2018). The advances from utilizing telemedicine or telehealth start with clients having increased access to care such as those individuals who live in rural areas which makes it extra difficult to commute to go see a provider in person.
