Supporting materials is vital for making the presentation effective. It clarifies the speaker ideas makes the presentation more illuminating as well as interesting and leaves relatively permanent impact on the mind of listeners, the visual aids like diagrams charts tables or pictures that make points more quickly and clearly than words are to be used through supporting material. These supporting materials are as follows:
1.White Boards : White boards are easy and economical means of presenting the information. But they are not portable therefore they can be used at permanent place. Moreover writing on black board consumes time.
2.Handouts : Handouts provides a permanent records of the ideas presented and reduces listener s need to take notes. These handouts should be circulated at the end of the presentation. This is done to avoid any distraction of attention of the audience.
3.Flip Charts: Flip charts consists of a large pad of papers revealing various presentations attached to an easel. These charts are easy and economical to use. Moreover these are portable. But they are difficult to prepare and are relatively fragile as they becomes shady after being handled in presentation. For making flip charts effective.
a.The easel should be placed away from direct light otherwise the reflection will make it too difficult to read.
b.While writing on these charts letters should be magnified to at least four times than normal so that they are readable.
c.There should be used of more than one color.
