Signature Homework: Principles of Organization and Management
Length: 5 to 7 pages.
Write and Analyze a Case Study.
Identify an organizational problem in a public administration-related organization (e.g., the one you work in, a local government agency, or a nonprofit/religious organization; it should not be a for-profit company). So far in this course, you have analyzed three case studies. In this homework, you will not have a case study to analyze. Instead, you will provide the case and the problem (based on your own knowledge, experience, or research) and discuss it, and provide plausible solutions. In this Signature Homework, you will also analyze the problem (whereas in the previous homeworks, you simply summarized the problem). In your analysis of the problem, connect the case study with as many of the themes of this course (human behavior, principles, and techniques in management and organizational behavior, supervising public employees, organizational planning, which directly relate to the four learning outcomes stated in the course syllabus) as are relevant.
Follow this format when writing your homework:
I. Write an introductory paragraph.
II. Summarize the organizational problem in the case study.
III. Analyze the problem, such as why it occurred, specific issues, and/or related problems.
IV. Provide three plausible solutions to the problem.
V. Analyze the impact of these three plausible solutions.
VI. Recommend which solution you suggest should be implemented and articulate reasons for your recommendation.
VII. Write a conclusion paragraph.
Format your homework according to the give formatting requirements:
• The answer must be using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, typed, with one-inch margins on all sides.
• The response also includes a cover page containing the student's name, the title of the homework, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
• Also include a reference page. The references and Citations should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
