Select one of the following and submit a minimum one-page report:
1. Read through the 'virtualization' links above, supplementing your reading with any research needed from the Internet on attacks through virtualization. In a minimum one page paper, summarize how virtualizationworks, what it can be used for, what the security flaws are, and why the security issues associated withvirtualization might be of concern.
2. Select the operating system of your choice (it may be a mobile OS, if you desire), and research the patches that have been published over the last couple of months. How many were there? What was the severity? What vulnerabilities did they address? Did the patches cause other problems?
3. Using the link for the OWASP Top 10 as a reference, create a tutorial for any of the web application security flaws listed there for this assignment, including buffer overflow issues.

This assignment should be at least one full page in length and is due at the end of the academic week. It is worth 50 points and a good discussion of the topic will get full credit. Ensure you're using standard formatting for class papers (APA style) and that you cite your sources correctly. Any misspellings or grammar issues will result in deductions from the total score. This assignment's score will appear in the online grade book following the end academic week.
Milestone #1 - An explanation of your topic.
• The deliverable for this milestone is a few sentences or a short paragraph that describes your topic. This milestone is worth 10 points toward the total grade for the paper.
• Choose a topic related to network security. The topic needs to be broad enough so that you can find good sources of information. However, the topic also needs to be narrow enough so that you can present it in a reasonably sized paper (the body of your paper should be 6-10 pages, double spaced in APA or MLA format.) Choose your topic wisely. A topic that is too broad is just as difficult as a topic that is too narrow. At this time a lot of students will want a list of topics that are acceptable. Giving a list of topics tends to limit the overall thinking of the writer. As long as you keep within the objectives of the course, your topic should be valid.
• A tip from your instructor: Check the ProQuest database in the BU online library before you choose your topic. Do you see thousands of articles when you search for your topic? Then your topic may be too broad. Do you see very few sources? Then your topic may be too narrow.
Assignment 2 -
Select and respond to one of the following. Be sure to cite your sources
