This assessment task requires you to conduct detailed research into an ancient site of your choice (excluding sites in ancient Egypt or ancient China). Choose ONE of the following sites or negotiate another site with your teacher:

1. Summarise the history of your site. For example, what was the site and who occupied the site and when (150 words).
2. Include a map of the location of your site. Explain where your site is located and the significance of its geography (150 words).
3. Collect and analyse 3 primary sources that relate to your site (e.g. artefacts, standing remains, inscriptions, coins, written sources). For each source, include a photograph and write 150 words on: what the source is, how it was made, what it was used for and what the source tells about the nature of the society that created it (3 primary sources x 150 words = 450 words).
4. Explain why your site is particularly significant and why efforts should be made to ensure it is preserved for future generations (300 words).
5. Include a reference list showing where you found the information used in steps 1 to 4, including references for the map and photos.
6. Submit your assignment as a PDF document
