Sudies of the primate genes

Humans belong to genus Homo and chimpanzees to genus Pan. Yet studies of the primate genes demonstrate that chimpanzees and humans are more closely related to one another than each is to any other animals. In light of this consequence, some researchers propose that chimpanzees should be renamed as members of genus Homo.

Critically discuss at least three scientific, practical, and ethical issues which might be raised by such change in naming.
