Length: 1650-1700 words
Objective: requires you to explain the basic elements of country risk analysis in terms of the economic, financial, political and social risks for Venezuela.
Part 1
The report should identify the key risks faced by Venezuela, and be around1200 words (on consumption of Venezuela in the Y = C+I+G+(X-M) formula)
Part 2
The focus on the socio-economic risks of Venezuela (450/500 words)
1. GDP Growth (talk about CONSUMPTION in Venezuela in relation to the formula)
Students should analyse the country's growth potential in terms of the formula for GDP. Each student should look at consumption in the formula in the GDP components.
Y = C+I+G+(X-M)
In this section: Students should obtain historical data and make projections for each constituent. The focus should be on the ability to grow domestic consumption; attract domestic / foreign investment(1,200 words )
A country's currency is an indicator of a country's economic health. Students should plot the graph of the Venezuelan Bolivar against the US dollar over a 10 year period. Explain the potential impact of the currency moves on the GDP component of consumption.
