1. Stratified squamous keratinizing epithelium is the excellent barrier to pathogens in epidermis of skin. Despite the fact that it is such the good barrier, this tissue wouldn’t be appropriate for the lining of the trachea or small intestine. Discuss why.

2. Going out in the sun stimulates quite a bit of the activity in skin, especially on a hot summer day. Discuss what is happening in the skin in response to sunlight.
