Introduction
Statistical measures of crime can be collected through several different resources. Some of these resources include household surveys, through hospital records, and law enforcement agencies. Once this information is gathered and reported to the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation). This is where the Uniform Crime Reports comes into play. This program was created in 1929 by the International Association of Chiefs of Police provide reliable crime statistics for the nation. Each year, several statistical publications are produced and the information which has been provided by several thousand law enforcement agencies across the United States is composed and inputted into the uniform crime report database
