Problem: Look at the state credentialing regulations of the state in which you plan to practice. It is recommended that you look specifically for your state's licensing and/or credentialing board for addiction counselors. Explore substance addiction and at least one (1) process addiction (e.g. sexual addiction, gambling addiction, or eating disorders). What did you discover about how your state regulates addiction counseling? Did you find a credentialing option? If so, for what? What are the requirements? Make sure you address credentialing for both substance use and a process addiction. Finally, identify one professional organization that may be useful for a counselor treating addiction and explain how it may be benefit the counselor. I want to get the licences from Chicago.
