Standards implemented at acute-care hospitals

Problem:

The article (National Library of Medicine, 2023) reviews evidence-based practice standards implemented at acute-care hospitals. This article is similar to the above article because it provides a table reviewing recommendations to prevent CLASBIs. This style of displaying information is effective as it is readily available to readers. In addition, this table includes "Approaches that Should Not Be Considered a Routine Part of CLABSI Prevention" and Unresolved Issues." These topics are still controversial and best practice standards have not been completely identified. This displays topics and practices that are still in question. This article uses a systematic approach while reviewing material. For example, information is divided into sections such as "Surveillance methods and definitions for CLABSI" and "Summary of existing guidelines and recommendations." The clearly identified sections provide ease when planning to initiate evidence-based practice standards of care. Evidence in this article is evaluated by using a grading method. Quality of evidence is listed following practice recommendations including the corresponding definition of each quality level. The quality of evidence is moderate for the use an antiseptic-containing hub/connector cap/port protector to cover connectors (NIH, 2023). I prefer to obtain information from the NIH article because of the advanced organization and categorization of information along with how the analysis of information.
