Stabilised Pavement Layers:
Soil stabilisation is the process of treating a soil in such a manner as to alter and improve its properties for use as a pavement layer on sub-grade.
Three types of stabilisation are practiced:
(a) Mechanical stabilisation, is which the mechanical properties of the soil is improved by blending it with better materials such as sand, gravel, soft aggregates or stone aggregates to obtain better particle-size distribution.
