Evidence into Practice Assessment Task
Task Description -
Choose a specific person-centred health care topic that interests you. Consider the topic carefully to ensure that you use the topic for Assessment Task 3.
Once you have chosen a person-centred health care topic, address the significance of the topic and develop a question to be able to find evidence through literature review. (e.g. Person-centred health care challenge: "In spite of health professionals' support many women stop breastfeeding in first few weeks after birth.
Topic: Breastfeeding cessation. The question is: "what are the reasons women give to stop breast feeding?")
This assessment task requires you to construct a presentation that covers the following points:
- Introduction - present a brief description/summary of the significance of the topic
- Question - describe the question that you have formulated to find any related evidence
- Search strategy - present the literature search and retrieval strategies to answer the formulated question. This part should include: criteria for considering studies, list of databases, keywords and synonyms, limitations and a list of articles that have been chosen.
- Critical review of evidence - Choose one article and critically review it (you can use critical review table provided in the Moodle site).
- Conclusion-identify the level of the evidence for the article and describe whether the article provides you with strong evidence to answer your question or not, and why.
