Learning Outcome:

1: Develop a personal action plan within the context of 21st century career opportunities.

2: Understand the role and importance of communication within organisations

Requirements:

There are three tasks to complete in this assessment. An explanation of each component can be found further in this document.

Task 1: Provide a short statement about why GLOs are important to the employability of Deakin graduates.

Task 2: Explain type of skills, knowledge and attributes the GLOs relate to, then reflect on and justify which GLO is your strength and which GLO challenges you.

Task 3: Discuss the areas you want to develop over the next couple of years.

Task 1:

For each of the eight (8) Deakin Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs), investigate the meaning of each GLO and develop an understanding of what skills and knowledge are associated with the GLO. Then consider why each GLO is important to graduate employability. Provide your definition for each of the GLOs and why you think each GLO is important.

Task 2:

Develop an understanding of core knowledge, skills and attributes associated with all the GLOs and how these relate to you.

First, fill out the following table:

Then select and discuss one GLO that is your strength, and one that is a challenge to you. Explain why you selected the two GLOs.

When discussing your strength GLO, select and provide evidence that explains how you have developed your skills and knowledge, and determined this GLO as a strength.

Then explain how you can develop your skills and knowledge in your challenge area.

Provide artefacts that support your claims. Artefacts can be items that you have created or developed, certifications or awards that you have achieved, that prove to someone else that you have the skills, knowledge or experiences that you are writing about (300 words in total).


Task 3:

The final component of this task is to discuss areas within GLOs or entire GLOs you would like to develop over the next couple of years.

Describe how you could develop your skills and knowledge of your challenge GLO and capitalise on your strength GLO you discussed in task 2.

Propose some strategies for developing your challenge GLO.

Provide a broad timeline for the development of your challenge GLO skills and knowledge.
